Master’s thesis student in 2025!
We have two openings for students’ master thesis projects (min. 6-month commitment) in the lab that builds on our strong prior work on multi-modal modeling with machine learning for neuroscientific data analysis (building on our work on cebra in Nature, May 2023), and another project on computational models of sensorimotor control building on work in eLife, May 2023 & bioXriv 2024). Both positions require programming in Python, pytorch, and having a background in machine learning.
Master student semester projects in Spring 2025, Fall 2025
We are excited to welcome students to work with us on self-supervised learning for behavioral, neural, and cell analysis. See our prior works on cebra, deeplabcut, and cellseg3D for inspiration!

Neuro-engineers, Software engineers, & research assistants:
Better code, better data = better research. We have positions often open in our group for individuals who want to work on software, database infrastructure, hardware engineering, or as research assistants (mouse training, experimental work).
Specific opens would be posted on our website, otherwise please reach out and apply via the form below.
EPFL PhD student position:
I take students from EDNE, EDEE, EDRS, and EDIC. Please apply directly to these programs and list me as a potential advisor. Admission is based on each programs committee. After you apply, feel free to reach reach out, but beforehand I cannot conduct pre-screenings.
ELLIS or visiting PhD Student position:
We do consider PhD students from other universities to join our group for co-supervision or short research stays. If you are applying to ELLIS, please tag me as a potential advisor. If you are already admitted elsewhere, please submit the form below to contact me.
